Meeting Location
The PIC20 conference will be held at the Museum of Science of
the University of Lisbon, near the center of the town.
The Museum of Science of the University of Lisbon sites in the old town
in front of the Tagus river, spreading to the
surrounding hills over a few square kms. The Center is located in an ancient
valley that was the riverbed of a former afluent of Tagus.
Most of its buildings date
from the late 18th century, after the devastation caused by the terrible
earthquake that ocurred in November 1st, 1755. The Center is surrounded
by two hills, each of them being the place of very old and typical
quartiers. The museum sites on the top of the west hill, near the
Belvedere of S. Pedro de Alcantara.
